part 89: (hanzalah)

**”Bismillahir rahmaanir raheem”
-in the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful-**

Abdullah organised for everyone to spend the next 2 days at the lodge down the road so that he and naeema could have some privacy as newly weds.

Its only fair to her. As it is she was marrying her sisters husband and had excess baggage. The least he could do was make her feel a little special. Because she is special. Well she will be rather after their nikaah is performed this evening.

And abdullAh also felt like the wedding night is a rather blessed night and should be spent in their own home where the 2 of them could pray and settle in together.

Everyone in the house excitedly packed little overnight bags and planned some activities for themselves.

Abdullah took some time away from the buzz at home once again and found himself driving towards the graveyard.

He wanted to go to naseemas grave and make dua for her on this special occasion.

As muslims we don’t believe in talking to the deceased, but its obligatory to remember them and pray for their forgiveness ever so often.

He sat beside her grave and began reciting suratul ikhlaas three times with the intention of sending the reward to her.

He missed his wife so much. No-one understood the pain he felt day in and day out. He had no-one to confide in and no-one to rush to greet everytime he returned home from somewhere.

Yes the house was full of people, but none of them shared the intimacy that he and naseema did.

He silently promised himself that even though he was starting a brand new chapter in his life, he would never forget his queen. He would never stop loving her and he would never stop praying for her.

No-one will ever be able to take her place. And he doesn’t expect that from naeema.

He loved naseema with all his heart. He has no feelings yet for naeema but from tonight, after their nikaah, he would learn to love her and hopefully in time he would love her just as much as he loved naseema.

He wiped the tear that fell from his eye in remembrance of his beautiful late wife, sighed and got up to return home where everyone was getting ready for tonight.

It was nothing major. It was just the nikaah and his mother was preparing a pot of bombay biryani and halwa for the family.

Abdullah had asked a few of his friends, including aqeel who had given him the dua to read, and his family to join aswel and invited whoever he could to the nikaah.

The best of nikaahs were those with the least extravagance and that’s what abdullah aimed for.

It was so strange that for weeks now naeema had been living under the same roof as him, but they had never bothered to have a conversation.

It was just part of them that the males would eat separately and the females separately. There was no time for unnecessary intermingling and abdullah preferred it that way.

Abdullah had decided that he and naeema would spend the 2 days getting to know eachother as much as possible and since everyones tickets were already booked to leave for pakistan on the weekend, he didn’t want to change any plans.

Naeema would go back to pakistan with the rest of the family to spend time with everyone back home and gather whatever she needed to bring back here and then return to her new home in south africa with one of her brothers, nephews or uncles.

It was the right thing to do. Abdullah didn’t expect her to not see the family back home ever again. He doesn’t know when he’ll be able to take her to pakistan again so it worked out for the best this way.

Abdullah took a deep breath as he switched his car engine off and opened the car door to ready himself for his nikaah. He was soon going to be a husband again and have a second queen as part of his life.

Decisions:
Please help me decide on 2 factors…

Firstly, inshallah I will not be posting at all during the month of ramadaan. Should I end the blog before ramadaan? Or should I pause it and continue after?

Secondly. I really enjoyed the quraan khatam and durood challenge last year ramadaan. It was truly motivational and I can honestly say that last year was my best ramadaan so far. Would anyone be interested in doing it again this year?

Alaahumma baarik lanaa fi rajab wa sha’baan wa ballighnaa ramadhaan..
“Oh Allah, bless us is rajab and sha’baan, and allow us to reach ramadhaan”

Please comment and let me know what you all think as your opinions really matter…

Also, a new post is up on silentlivingsanthology.wordpress.com
A tribute to mothers day (please read it before jumping down my throat…lol.. I DO NOT celebrate mothers day :p)

  1. I think pause it and continue after ramadhan..the story still seems to hav a long way to go before the end ☺
And yea, start the challenge again,it was motivating n very nice to do a’maal together as a group..more barakah that way.. My apa always says,”infiraadi a’maal ke pahaar, ijtimaa’i a’maal ke zarre baraabar bhi nahi ho sakte” (mountains of deeds done individually cannot equal to particles of deeds done in a group)..جزاك الله خيرا for all the posts..im enjoyin them! 👍

  2. Definitely pause and continue after! Why would you want to end it so soon?

  6. Pause it before Ramadhan….but try to end off whatever is happening right now. maybe continue after that with a new season kind of thing. In that way we wnt be lost after the long break. (If that makes any sense🙈)
