part 67: (sabreen)

**”Bismillahir rahmaanir raheem”
-in the name of Allah, The Most Gracious, The Most Merciful-**

“It was really the most awesome thing in the world to me you. You were like an angel in disguise. You’ve taught me so much and given me hope that things will be okay for me oneday after all…” Sabreen expressed her thoughts to the most wonderful person she’s ever met while hugging naseema goodbye.

Naseema gave sabreen a tight squeeze. “You have been more motivation for me to fight for my life dear. You’ll never know how glad I am to have met you. Stay safe and always remember that God is with you wherever you are okay?”

It was such a sad departure between the 2. Naseema scribbled her contact details and address on a piece of paper and handed it over to sabreen for the future.

“If ever you need me, I’m just a call away and you’re more than welcome at my home anytime.” Naseema said to sabreen.

Alice, tony, and aunt hilda were soon there to fetch sabreen. They were heading over to hildas house to discuss where to from here.

They waited for mike to get back from work and all had supper together. Everyone tried to ignore the actual reason that they were there.

Tony and alice appreciated a good meal after such a long time. They basically lived on junk their entire lives and now that they lived on their own and were studying, there wasn’t much time for the kitchen anyway. Not that they had enough money for a gourmet meal in the first place.

Hilda was so different to her sister. She was so mature and successful. She was caring and always felt the need to do the right thing.

Whereas beth was a loser in every way. She was a failure. She failed at everything that she did or had. And it wasn’t because she tried and just failed. She failed because she didn’t even try to succeed. She allowed herself to be a failure from the very day that she met sam.

And as their lives progressed together, they failed worse each day.

Beth called hilda the day that sabreen was meant to return home but hilda ignored her calls. Not because she didn’t want to speak to beth or because she didn’t want to take sabreen back. But merely because she didn’t know how to tell beth what had happened with sabreen.

She felt that a mother wouldn’t be able to bare something like this happening to their child so far away from them.

When she finally gained the courage, she called her to tell her that something urgent had come up and they couldn’t make it to bring sabreen back as promised but she promised to bring sabreen back home within the next week.

Hilda made plans to take sabreen back the day after she would be discharged from the hospital.

Beth was angry and threw as many insults hildas way which hilda felt like she deserved for allowing sabreen to do what she did under her supervision. She felt lousy for what had happened and blamed herself. She felt like that’s why God hadn’t given her children in the first place. Because she wasn’t a good enough parent. She wouldn’t be able to look after her own child well enough.

Beth threatened over and over again to do something drastic if sabreen wasn’t brought back home soon but hilda gave her word and promised that she would bring her home.

She knew that beth and sam were financially on the rocks and couldn’t afford to come all the way themselves so she was safe in that way…

Or so she thought.

Just as she brought the peaches and cream to the table, the door bell rang. They all were surprised to find beth and sam with angry red eyes standing at the front door.
